Hi my Name is Marc and I have been playing guitar and writing songs for over 20 years , predominantly classical and acoustic, I also play electric and I have a keen interest in all types of music from Classical and Blues to Gypsy Jazz and Rock!

My playing style is my own but has many influences and I gladly welcome newbies to the world of the guitar.

Some people are not bothered about exams, although it can help to play technically and know the theory, the majority of people just want to be able to knock out a good camp fire song and strum along with their guitar which is fantastic. I personally know people that have played for over 50 years knowing only basic chord progressions, but they entertain for a living, one in his 70′s still play a regular slot three times a week! .For others it might be you want to pin down that Blues solo piece to a BB King backing track or play a Classical piece like Cavatina ( Deer Hunter Theme). What ever it is, I will be able to help, I don’t know everything. but if I get stuck with a question I guarantee I will find the answer for you in the lesson or maybe the following one!

What is more important when playing a piece is to play with feeling, not all grade 8 people can do this, they can read music and technically play to the exact timing and what they read in front of them. A three chord song or a few notes in a blues solo played with feeling can be a lot more impressive!

What I aim mainly to do is organise your lessons so that I am guiding you on the right path for what you want out of the guitar and music, most of your practising will be at home so I will use the time you spent with me wisely.

I offer a friendly relaxed atmosphere and can help you with your getting your vocals right, song writing and structure if you are also interested in singing along whilst you play your guitar.

If you have always wanted to be able to pick up a guitar and sing a few tunes and play a few chords I can definitely help you and can take you to intermediate levels of guitar playing!

How many people I have come across who say they play the guitar, but when asked to play something are stumped, or show me a guitar lick from their favourite band for the whole of 20 seconds, then another, but how wonderful it is when someone can truly play a full piece with emotion and feeling, it captivates you and takes you to another world!

I will encourage and get you to complete songs and pieces of music from beginning to the end, pieces that will impress and entertain your family, friends and people, its also a fabulous way to wind down and relax and it always makes you feel fulfilled and  happy once you have mastered some simple chords or classical pieces on the guitar~
